Join two, three, or four quality exchange organizations. A typical exchange organization will offer you usually one-half to .7 or .8 credits, each time you host another member's banner at your site, and a full credit will earn you the displaying of your banner on another exchange members site. Some exchanges offer multiple page coding so you may host members banners on numerous pages throughout your site. Thus membership in multiple exchange organizations allows you to leverage visitors not only as a result of each unique visitor producing multiple credits for you, but also as a result of visitors who go beyond your home page, explore your web site, and earn you additional exchange credits through the impressions they are exposed to on any or all of the pages you host banners on. It's highly possible to earn, with a ten page web site, and a visitor who sees all ten pages, ten or more credits, meaning impressions due you just for belonging to two exchanges. Banner size, should be maintained at 3-5K which is ideal if you can accomplish your copy and creative objectives. If not, up to 7 is OK. Never more than 10 as it takes much longer to load and you run the risk of the visitor not seeing your banner at all.
I can't stress this enough. There is no reason not to brand every banner you ever create. Branding your banner can be accomplished by doing nothing more that placing your product or company logo on one of the screens in the animation process, or simply giving the name of your company, or domain name, or a picture of your product. With average click through responses in the 1-2% range, why waste 98% of the impressions by not telling the viewer who you are or what your product is? Off line advertisers have known for decades the power of branding, and with properly designed banners you can accomplish both direct response advertising and branding simultaneously. With branding you can get your name, your product name, continually in front of your prospects, even if they don't "click" on.
Don't get hung up on hosting banners on your site for fear that you'll lose a visitor. Listen, they're going to leave anyways. If they're interested in your site they'll stick with it until their interest is totally satisfied. If not, you're going to lose them in any event, so you may as well get some mileage out of those visits.
Do not try to qualify your visitor. In other words, let the site do the qualifying and selling job for you. After all the name of the game is to get each and every unique new visitor to your site as possible, thus leveraging credits due you should you belong to a banner exchange.
When building your five to ten word static banner, or five to seven words first screen animated banner copy, rely on these themes. Fear, curiosity, humor, the big promise. Example, Warning, you must see this before you purchase xxx; never worry about losing xxx again, learn the secrets of cashing in on xxx, do you know how to xxx? As an aside, a warning banner is an enormously powerful approach. Many off line yellow pages publishers will not even allow them because the other advertisers complain about the unfair advantage such an ad delivers. Try one.
The number one drawing card in banner advertising is the use of the word FREE. Put your creative talents to task here. Write a free report that solves a problem, and post it at your site. Offer a free drawing, free subscription to a e-zine. Free advertising, free trial offer, free download for software, etc., etc.
Never assume your viewer knows what to do next. Always, in one or more places, insert the words click here, or, click here now, or show a drop down box with a click arrow prominently displayed.
When appropriate to your marketing campaign, buy click throughs and not impressions. With click through purchases you can lock in on the cost of each unique new visitor. Purchasing click throughs helps to eliminate concern over rigorous and ongoing testing and new banner design and creation concerns, as well as the arduous task of ongoing meaning daily, monitoring of each of your banner's effectiveness. When purchasing click throughs and paying only for those new visitors, all of those issues become someone else's problem. The co-op offers an excellent click through ad program.
Targeting. If you are a niche market advertiser, or a local or regional advertiser, targeting is vital to the success of your banner campaign. You'll want to very carefully select sites or work with an ad agency that offers the opportunity to reach those prospects who are the most likely to be interested in your product or service. On the surface, purchasing targeted impressions is more costly, however, it represents the best way to reach your audience. If you're selling automobiles in southeast Florida, it makes no sense to place your banner into a national network where only a fraction of the audience would have any interest. Instead you'll want to target web sites serving the community you service, including Chamber of Commerces, newspapers, radio stations, television stations, and other local and regional businesses serving the same geography.
Test, test, and test some more. Once you've got the perfect banner working, design another one because sooner or later even the best banner runs out of steam. It's generally accepted that after a prospect sees a banner for the third or fourth time, the likelihood of a click through plummets. When testing, always test the next new design on the same site or on the same network, so you are indeed comparing apples to apples. Testing is a continual ongoing, dynamic process. Review your stat pages on a daily basis and be prepared to act quickly when results begin to lag. Remember the three most critical elements of your banner. First the copy, next the color, and next the graphics. Once a successful banner has been created, tweaking and modifying these elements can keep it alive and producing strong click-throughs for many months.

The other day I wrote a post about a different Twitter marketing idea where you can help automate your Twitter process via the Twitter Hummingbird Review. Here is another cool and interesting way to leverage Twitter and help automate the sharing of cool and relevant information. Back in the day I used to love using the StumbleUpon toolbar to kill time at work and bounce around the web. With StumbleUpon, people submit articles for others to vote on whether or not they like what they see. Voting on StumbleUpon is done by giving a thumbs up or a thumbs down. The articles with the most thumbs-up votes will get more traffic from StumbleUpon.

As for StumbleTweets.com, you can use it to find tweets that apply to you and not just some random web pages. If you are into marketing like myself and you search marketing on StumbleTweets you will be shown tweets with links that have marketing in them. Then you are finding and re-tweeting (RT) tweets related to your niche or likes and are able to one-click and share those with your followers.

Twitter Marketing Ideas a Hummingbird Review

Twitter is here to stay and becoming ever more important as a marketing tool. Twitter marketing isn’t anything new, but tools are propelling Twitter use to higher and higher levels. This post isn’t about how you should interact with Twitter members but rather how to get hundreds or thousands of followers.

The biggest goal of Twitter marketing is to get as many Twitter followers as possible in order to leverage those followers in conversation and conversion. A software called Hummingbird by Mesiab Lab’s is the best way I’ve found to manage my Twitter accounts. By using Hummingbird, I acquire the most followers without getting my Twitter account banned.

Hummingbird is a huge (HUGE) time saver and well worth the investment. The primary reason I started looking into programs like Hummingbird was due to the amount of time I was spending managing my Twitter accounts (be sure to follow me @SSINVESTOR). Hummingbird has saved me hours and hours.

Adding and managing multiple accounts

Hummingbird allows you to manage several Twitter accounts together. Adding in multiple accounts has never been easier. After your accounts have been added into Hummingbird, you can easily select which account you would like to work with by choosing from a drop down menu.

Following like-minded members

When I use Hummingbird to follow people on Twitter, I look for others who are like my target niche or myself. When I find a person with similar followers I have the option of selecting either his or her followers or the members he or she is following. Next I click the Follow All button and Hummingbird begins to follow every single person in those lists, including automatically forwarding to the next page and repeating the process. My guess is that you can automatically follow 1,000 Twitter members in 30-45 minutes.

Automatically unfollow Twitter members

Hummingbird has a great feature that allows you to easily unfollow all of those who either quit following you or never followed you back.

After I have waited 48-72 hours for people to follow me back after a Hummingbird follow run, I use the automatic Unfollow All feature to remove those who didn’t add me back. I wait a few days in order to give people time to see that I attempted to follow them and give them a chance to return the favor. I take into account that a lot of people only use Twitter at work and might be home during the weekend or on vacation.

Then I click on my own Following link through Hummingbird and select the Unfollow All button. This button works exactly the same as the Follow All button, just in reverse. Hummingbird then goes through your Following list and unfollows all of those who either quit following you or never followed you back. If you have ever done this process manually it can take an eternity. Hummingbird takes care of this process for you while you sit back and watch the magic or work on something else.

Hummingbird’s built-in safety features

In order to not get your Twitter account banned or marked as spam, you should never hit the same people twice. Hummingbird remembers who you have followed and unfollowed in order to skip those members if you attempt to follow or unfollow again. This way you only ever follow or unfollow a person once unless you manually do it. You will see that these people show up as red, and the program automatically skips over them. (seen in the pic above)

Don’t worry about hitting your follow limit for your Twitter account. Hummingbird will not allow you to follow more than Twitter will allow. After you hit your maximum number of followers for that account, Hummingbird goes through the motions without adding to your following number.

Hummingbird’s VIP list

A lot of times you may want to follow a member because you like that person or he or she is really popular or whatever. You can add members to your account’s VIP list so Hummingbird won’t unfollow them even if they aren’t following you back. Depending on what your goal or target market is for your Twitter account, you may want to use this feature. I personally don’t use it much, but it is handy.

Hummingbird’s built-in Twitter search feature

The most impactful part of the Hummingbird software is the Twitter Search function. With the Search function you can drill down and get the most targeted search possible for your niche. After you have done a search, you can click a button to automatically follow all the people in that search result. You can even leave the program running so that it will continue to automatically follow new people as they meet that specified search. You are able to set up the most targeted Twitter search possible, then automatically follow those people while you sleep :).

I looked into programs like Hummingbird because of all the time I was wasting by managing my Twitter accounts. I ponied up the $200 for Hummingbird and haven’t looked back. I have easily saved that much in waited time. So no matter if you use my affiliate link or not, I have come out on top. I can now manage 4x as many Twitter accounts in 1/10th the time.

Hummingbird does offer an affiliate program that does pay out handsomely (approx $60 a sell). This explains the high cost of the program, but it only takes 3 sales to recover your initial investment into the program. I have already made my money back on the program and there is plenty of room to sell Hummingbird to other new and existing Twitter members. By using Hummingbird and pimping its affiliate program you can save time, but also make a profit.

Contextual Ad Networks...The Baby Boom Is Upon Us

No, this baby boom will certainly not swamp the Social Security
system (sort of a bad joke for those that live in the United
States, but many other countries...most notably Japan...have an
even more acute problem), but this baby boom is revolutionizing
the way that pay per click advertising is being spread across the
Internet.

One of the early participants in this pay per click baby boom was
Google, with its AdSense program. With this program, Google
shares pay per click revenue with a huge number of individual
partner websites that carry a few pay per click ads that are
distributed by Google. In essence, this creates a whole bunch of
little pay per click locations (websites) throughout the Internet
and hence the term "pay per click baby boom".

Conceptually, programs like AdSense are similar to what the
computer hardware folks refer to a distributed processing.
Instead of trying to draw everyone to a large pay per click
search engine site, little groups of pay per click ads are spread
widely across thousands of locations (websites) all over the
Internet.

Actually, this distributed processing or propagation technique is
not limited to pay per click advertising. For example, Amazon
uses a similar arrangement (called Amazon Associates) to sell the
products it carries on amazon.com and ClickBank has a sales
program called CBAdwords which operates in a similar fashion.

According my trusty Ouija board, it seems likely that most
commercial hubs on the Internet will be shifting to this
propagation concept as time progresses...all of those individual
partner websites that carry the message/proposition will
constitute the vast army of worker ants that keep the queen ant
alive and healthy.

From a pay per click marketing perspective, these programs make
brilliant use of leverage while providing highly targeted
prospects for the paying advertiser.

There are, of course, some interesting things that occur as a
result of all of this stuff. For example, consider what I call
the "cross fertilization effect": Suppose a person goes to
yahoo.com and performs a search that leads them to one of my
websites that happens carry Google AdSense ads and that visitor
then clicks on one of those ads...the net result is that Yahoo
natural search provided Google pay per click with some revenue!
Aren't these fun times that we're living in?

As these programs continue to proliferate, the individual
webmaster needs to exercise a little restraint and avoid the
temptation to go overboard by plastering these ads all over your
website and thereby diluting your own primary message/proposition
and confusing your hard earned visitor. When properly used,
these ads are just ancillary or complementary content that you
are providing to enhance the information and opportunities that
you are providing to your visitor...if something happens to
strike a responsive chord with your visitor, you might make a

If properly used, these propagation programs can result in the
classical "win-win" situation. However, if you over do it, this
can quickly turn into a loss for you (the individual webmaster)

the ads. As in many things, moderation is important.

The dynamic search engine marketing industry continues to evolve
as users began to take advantage of the steady stream of new
features, tools and innovations provided by the ever increasing
number of search engines offering quality search results (it's
not all about Google anymore). The evolutionary time line for
Internet marketing continues to run at warp speed.

An example of previous evolutionary periods (which by now may
almost seem prehistoric) would be the emergence of pay-per-click
advertising and the cooresponding rise of search-marketing firms
specializing in AdWords and Overture. As long as there are methods

using keywords or similar attributes, there will be a
search-marketing industry. How that industry operates in the
future depends on how the search engines operate and how consumer

One day when I was about 7 years old, my mother and I were at a store and I saw a toy that I “had” to have. I asked my mom to buy it for me. She said: « Dominic, we can’t afford to buy that, money doesn’t grow on trees you know. » My mother was a widow with two children and was not rich. We had enough to get by, but anything more was usually out of reach.

I daydreamed about how much fun I could have if I had such a tree. I saw myself picking a few twenty dollar bills from that tree, with a big smile on my face thinking of all the cool stuff I was going to buy with it. About twenty years later, I am amazed that such a tree actually does exist: the multiplis streamae incomum.

Plant a tree, reap the rewards

What first caught my attention in multiple streams of income is the possibility of having many different automated or semi-automated income generating systems. It seemed like a great way to make a living. The internet brought this possibility to anyone who has a little bit of knowledge about the way the web works.

There are many advantages to this approach:

1. Security

If you lose one of your “jobs”, you can count on your other ones to keep you going. Something catastrophic would have to happen for you to lose all your sources of income.

2. Low cost

Many streams of income can be set up at little or no cost. All you really have to spend is a bit of your time, more initially, then less and less afterwards to keep your system oiled up and running. You might want to pay for advertising, but then again, there are many great ways to advertise for free.

3. Frees up a lot of your time

Once you have put an initial investment in time (and sometimes a small investment of money), you can let your system, your automated machines, do most of the work for you and start piling your money. While it’s true that many will seem to generate only small amounts of money at a time, they will all add up to a substantial amount fairly quickly. Once your machines are set up and running, you’ll have more time to do the things you really want to do and best of all, since most of your money will be coming from automated sources, you will earn money even while you sleep or when you are on vacation!

I love the idea of passive income; income that does not require your direct involvement. You’ll want to put your streams on auto-pilot as much as possible.

Be ready to fail many times

Brian Tracy said that «The best way to have good ideas, is to have lots of ideas.» The same thing applies to your streams of income. Set up a few streams, keep those that bring you money, and toss those that don’t. It’s as simple as that. By knowing from the start that some of your streams will not work, you won’t be as disappointed and it will be easier for you to keep your focus and your drive. Don’t be scared of failure. Fail a lot! Try as many different ideas as you can, especially if there is no up-front cost to you. This way you will have the best chance of succeeding.

Stay focused

Try not to do everything at once. Start small. Focus on one stream until is has a life of its own, then move on to another idea. Don’t try to make it perfect from the start either. It always seems to be easier to improve something that has already been set up, once you have seen it running for a while.

A dozen ideas to use as streams of income

1) Investing

If you have a job which brings a bit more than what you need for necessities, put aside 3 bucks every day and put it into a savings account. At the end of one year you’ll have $1095 plus interests. With the help of compound interests, you can even stop putting money into your account after a while and it will keep making money for you over time. You will be making interests on interests.

You can also make other kinds of investments that may bring you more return on your investment. Be aware though, that the higher the possibility for return, the higher the risks. More secure, less return. You may be interested in bonds, stocks, realty, buying a business, etc.

2) Affiliate Programs

The great thing about affiliate programs is that you can sell products without needing to keep an inventory, do invoicing… All you do is promote your referral link, and get paid a certain amount on every purchase made through that link.

A good source of affiliate programs can be found through Clickbank or Commission Junction. You can also do a web search for “affiliate program” and you will find many, many opportunities, in many different niche markets.

3) Online Auctions

If you have your own product, or maybe you have items in your house which you no longer use but that may still be of value to other people, online auctions can be a great tool. Ebay is probably the most widely used online auction site, but there are others you may want to consider.

Some people have made quite a bit of money by starting their own “Ebay business”. They buy good stuff that they find in garage sales or “offline” auctions, or they buy in bulk and sell at a profit. You can even set up an easy-to-use online store on Ebay or Yahoo. I suggest getting the book “Starting an Ebay Business For Dummies” by Marsha Collier if you are interesting of going in that direction.

4) Sell your own product

You may want to write an eBook and sell it on your website, on Ebay, or on eBook libraries. If you manufacture or craft your own products, a website is definitely the way to go. You might also use a pre-made online store on Ebay, Yahoo!Shops or one of the many others.

5) Paid surveys

Most survey sites pay you 2-3 bucks for a completed survey, but some pay up to $50 or even $100 for a single survey that may take you 30-60 minutes to complete.

Since most survey sites will only send you a few surveys per month, registering to as many survey sites as you can will increase your likelihood of you taking enough surveys to be worth your time, and money.

6) Paid to complete offers, to surf the net

There are some sites like Treasure Trooper, Snap Dollars, Cash Crate, Instant Profitz that pay you to complete offers. You fill in a registration form, a trial membership, download an eBook, request a free sample and you get paid a few cents to a few dollars for every completed offer.

Some sites have more offers than others, and similar offers are often seen on different GPT (get paid to) sites. Most of them will also pay you when you refer people to them which is probably why young people with lots of friends tend to like these kinds of sites.

7) Multi-Level Marketing (MLM)

If you like selling, MLM might be for you. Most MLM companies offer you to sell a product and/or a business opportunity. You sell someone a product or range of products(like natural products, vacation packages, web site hosting, etc.), and show them how they can make money the same way you are making yours. Usually you will get paid a share of everything those under you sell.

If you are active to promote “your” business, this might be a profitable endeavor for you to look into.

Start a business

Have an idea for a product or service to sell? Start your own business! It can be a brick and mortar business, but you might want to take advantage of the internet and put your business online.

9) Sell advertising on your web site

If you have a popular web site, selling advertising on your site can bring in some hefty dough. The Adsense PPC (Pay-per-click) network is well-known and widely used. It is also very easy to implement on your site. Yahoo! Publisher Network(YPN) offers a similar system.

10) Accept donations on your site

Your visitors get some great information, tips or free tools on your site… why not give them opportunity to experience giving as well! Setting up a PayPal donate button is an easy thing to do and can be implemented quickly.

11) Sell your old stuff by having a yard sale

Just like online auctions, yard sales can be useful to rid yourself of stuff you no longer need or want. It might not be a stream that will last very long, but it’s a great way to clean up your home!

12) Freebies/giveaways

Ok, not really a “stream” of income, more like a “possible sudden pile” of income, but who doesn’t like free stuff?

Those were just a few simple ideas to get you started.

Having multiple streams of income will keep money pouring into your bank account whether you are at your desk, asleep or on vacation. No longer will you have to work at a dead-end job that you hate, working on someone else’s goals rather than your own. You will have more time to spend with your family and live your life the way you want to.

Look look.. What’s that lunatic up to once again! Suthan is back and is now more ruthless

I was lurking around in a forum and suddenly I stumbled upon a link – Your Simply Stupid – quite an appalling domain! I was sure it would be another weird website with no substance in it and boy! Can I ever be wrong?!?!?

When I clicked the link, I was taken into a horrible, ugly looking website. Not only the website looked pathetic but the sales page was even worse.

However, I tried hard and managed to read the page till the end (it was really difficult tolerating the lingo throughout!!!)

Halfway through, and I still couldn’t understand what’s the goal of the website and I did not want to waste my time any further! I simply navigated out of that webpage.

But you know what’s funny? I found myself going back to that website the next day and to my utter amazement I did something that I never thought I would do…

“I PUSHED THE BUTTON” and even made the payment. Arrrghhh

Oh! Yes.. I submitted myself to that bugger who called me stupid.
I felt humiliated. I felt frustrated. I cursed myself.

I didn’t want to read what I got. I was sure it would be another piece of crap.

But But But…I was proved wrong! (Oh no… not again)

What I got was an absolute eye-opener… and I am truly glad I grabbed the deal.

Internet Marketing vs. Old School Marketing

Since entering the Internet marketing arena a few months back I've had a lot of people – both online and off – ask me exactly what I do. I usually respond by saying I'm a marketer, and they usually assume it means I make commercials or write newspaper ads. I can't blame them really; advertising has been the same for a few decades now and only in the past 5 years has the online scene really taken off.

But, it made me think. Why are the things I do now so much different than those of the offline marketers? It's basically the same thing right – sell products to customers through creative avenues. After the "selling things" part though, it becomes something entirely different, a different breed of marketing altogether.

Two Different Worlds

I have no experience and only passing knowledge about the world of old school marketing. I understand the concept of brand marketing and of reaching as many people as possible with as enticing a message as possible. I understand it enough to realize that it doesn't work for the Internet. There are ton of reasons why this is the case, but the simplest is that old school marketing techniques have a bit of freedom. A TV commercial has 30 seconds to play with. A magazine ad will be read repeatedly for years to come. Product placement in a movie gets replayed to millions.

Internet marketing is a whole different animal. Instead of casting a giant net and pulling as many fish that cling to it as possible, Internet marketing spears its customers one at a time. We don't plaster a message and wait. We groom lists of potential customers, place targeted pay per click ads, and write sales letters that tell a specific kind of customer why our product is the best.

Internet Brands Need Internet Marketing Strategies

Just a quick look at the early failure of the Internet companies trying to market in the old school style will show exactly how different the two worlds are. Does anyone remember those super bowl commercials from the late 1990s – the ones for Pets.com and the other mega sites whose stock was worth more than it had any right to be? They blew millions on super bowl spots, marketing to just about every man, woman, and child on the planet and ended up going broke a few months later.

What We Do is Different

The Internet is a medium of the now. You have to know exactly who your customer is, what they want, and why they want it. Then, you need to be there waiting for them when they decide to look for it. Old school marketing does the opposite – it seeks out customers, banging on doors and asking to be let in for a few seconds. It places itself in locations where customers will see it regardless, often ignoring it.

When my family or friends ask me what the difference is between what I am doing and what the ad executives in Los Angeles or New York are doing, I make it simple. I'm talking to the customer while they're talking at the customer.

And that is the main difference really. Online marketing techniques are about the customer and how we can get to know them better, share our product and hopefully affect their day in some way. You can't do that in many other businesses. It wouldn't be cost effective. Thankfully for us, the only way to do business online is to target your customers.

When you can offer targeted ads that interest a potential customer through AdWords or increase your search ranking to match what your perfect customer is searching for, you can place your website and product directly in front of that customer when they decide they are looking for a product. Who else can claim that kind of control over who sees their website and where the advertising money goes in a campaign?

Tip #4: IP Address

The sites you deemed most important, ensure they have unique ip addresses for each site. The reason this is important is many sites on a "shared" hosting service share the same ip address. If any of these sites have been banned by the search engines, it could affect your site's ranking or even result in your site being banned as well, since it is sharing the same ip address.

Tip #5: Site Map

Always create a site map for your site and submit the site map using Google's webmaster tools. A site map will allow the search engines to easily find all the pages within your website.

It's been shown that using H1 tags, and even H2 tags are good for optimization. Be sure you section your website's headlines in H1 tags. Tip #9: Limiting Javascript

Try to limit the amount of Javascript used on your page, especially if it's being placed near the top of your website's source code. This will lower the relevance of your site's content, as the first thing the spider will see is Javascript code and not actual textual content, therefore you lose relevancy points since your main content is not loaded first on the page.

Tip #10: Meta Description

Always use meta tag description. Google actually pulls your meta tag description when spidering your website, and so does Yahoo and MSN. So it's very important that you have a well written and keyword rich meta tag description. For best results have your description less than 200 characters.

Tip #11: Meta Keywords

Not all search engines index meta keywords, but it's still a good idea to have a meta keyword tag just in case it's indexed or have some kind of relevance.

Tip #12: Unique Titles

Many scripts by default do not utilize unique titles for each page within the script or website, therefore your site is not optimized well for high rankings. Be sure that when using a script to power your website that you have the option to have a unique Title for each page, a unique meta description, and unique keywords.

Tip #13: Unique Body Content

Do not *ever* repeat the same content on too many pages. If this is done, your pages could be placed in Google's supplemental results database. This is not where you want to be, so therefore ensure that each page within your website does have unique body content.

Tip #14: Link Building

I would recommend submitting to Yahoo Directory and perhaps Business.com and a few other paid directories such as Uncoverthenet.com and Gimpsy.com. Tip #16: Social Bookmarking Sites

For quick indexing into the search engines, submitting to reddit.com and digg.com maybe a worth while task. It can allow the spiders to quickly visit your site and also result in some traffic. There can be zillions of reasons why your visitors return to your web site. One might be very interested in seeing your animated photo on your main page, but kidding aside I've gathered 12 elements that invites your visitors to repeat their visits.

1. High-Quality Content.

We have all read that "Content is King". We have not set-up our website to just fill-it with endless links of your favorites but we're there to discuss what can we contribute to the web. Fill it with regularly-updated quality content and they'll return asking for more.

2. Ease Of Use.

We have all heard of "user-friendly" computers and softwares. Why not do the same to your web site? Provide a navigation bar that's easy (and fun) to use forgetting the fancy stuff.

3. Quick To Download.

Assume your web site is going to be viewed by the oldest browser, slowest modem and limited number of palettes.

4. Updated Frequently.

Message Board or interactive forums replaces BBS (bulletin board system) nowadays. Even I have one on my web site (just to make sure) and I'm amazed at the number of visitors from around the globe who post on it. Just make sure you get their email addie so you can reply.

12. Freebies, Jokes and Quotes.

I don't know about this but I've received return visits on this one. I even got a search engine for jokes on my other sites and people return just to read jokes. These same people who spent considerable amount of money reading jokes and quotes will soon ask for a price quote.

You know studies have shown that it takes 4 to 5 visits for a person before he sets his eyes on what you can offer. A simple element (but it's not included on the 12 elements I've mentioned) is just to place a text on your web site (bold letters, not caps) saying "Please bookmark this site" can go a long, long way.

We Are Right In The Middle Of A Pay Per Click Baby Boom

One of the early participants in this pay per click baby boom was Google, with its AdSense program. With this program, Google shares pay per click revenue with a huge number of individual partner websites that carry a few pay per click ads that are distributed by Google. In essence, this creates a whole bunch of little pay per click locations (websites) throughout the Internet and hence the term "pay per click baby boom".

Conceptually, programs like AdSense are similar to what the computer hardware folks refer to a distributed processing. Instead of trying to draw everyone to a large pay per click search engine site, little groups of pay per click ads are spread widely across thousands of locations (websites) all over the Internet.

Actually, this distributed processing or propagation technique is not limited to pay per click advertising. For example, Amazon uses a similar arrangement (called Amazon Associates) to sell the products it carries on amazon.com and ClickBank has a sales program called CBAdwords which operates in a similar fashion.

According my trusty Ouija board, it seems likely that most commercial hubs on the Internet will be shifting to this propagation concept as time progresses...all of those individual partner websites that carry the message/proposition will constitute the vast army of worker ants that keep the queen ant alive and healthy.

From a pay per click marketing perspective, these programs make brilliant use of leverage while providing highly targeted prospects for the paying advertiser.

There are, of course, some interesting things that occur as a result of all of this stuff. For example, consider what I call the "cross fertilization effect": Suppose a person goes to yahoo.com and performs a search that leads them to one of my websites that happens carry Google AdSense ads and that visitor then clicks on one of those ads...the net result is that Yahoo natural search provided Google pay per click with some revenue! Aren't these fun times that we're living in?

As these programs continue to proliferate, the individual webmaster needs to exercise a little restraint and avoid the temptation to go overboard by plastering these ads all over your website and thereby diluting your own primary message/proposition and confusing your hard earned visitor. When properly used, these ads are just ancillary or complementary content that you are providing to enhance the information and opportunities that you are providing to your visitor...if something happens to strike a responsive chord with your visitor, you might make a little pay per click money.

If properly used, these propagation programs can result in the classical "win-win" situation. However, if you over do it, this can quickly turn into a loss for you (the individual webmaster) and a win for your pay per click partners that are distributing the ads. As in many things, moderation is important.

It's a constant sea of change, but the good things just keep on getting better! Stay alert, and light on your feet, and the opportunities will just keep on coming your way.

The above are just some observations from "the peanut gallery", but I don't think I'm far off the mark about where things are heading. With that, I'm off the soapbox and wishing you success in whatever you do online!

Causes of Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)

As discussed previously, irritable bowel syndrome is believed to be due to the abnormal function (dysfunction) of the muscles of the organs of the gastrointestinal tract or the nerves controlling the organs. The nervous control of the gastrointestinal tract, however, is complex. A system of nerves runs the entire length of the gastrointestinal tract from the esophagus to the anus in the muscular walls of the organs. These nerves communicate with other nerves that travel to and from the spinal cord. Nerves within the spinal cord, in turn, travel to and from the brain. (The gastrointestinal tract is exceeded in the numbers of nerves it contains only by the spinal cord and brain.) Thus, the abnormal function of the nervous system in IBS may occur in a gastrointestinal muscular organ, the spinal cord, or the brain.

The nervous system that controls the gastrointestinal organs, as with most other organs, contains both sensory and motor nerves. The sensory nerves continuously sense what is happening within the organ and relay this information to nerves in the organ's wall. From there, information can be relayed to the spinal cord and brain. The information is received and processed in the organ's wall, the spinal cord, or the brain. Then, based on this sensory input and the way the input is processed, commands (responses) are sent to the organ over the motor nerves. Two of the most common motor responses in the intestine are contraction or relaxation of the muscle of the organ and secretion of fluid and/or mucus into the organ.

As already mentioned, abnormal function of the nerves of the gastrointestinal organs, at least theoretically, might occur in the organ, spinal cord, or brain. Moreover, the abnormalities might occur in the sensory nerves, the motor nerves, or at processing centers in the intestine, spinal cord, or brain. Some researchers argue that the cause of functional diseases is abnormalities in the function of the sensory nerves. For example, normal activities, such as stretching of the small intestine by food, may give rise to abnormal sensory signals that are sent to the spinal cord and brain, where they are perceived as pain.

Other researchers argue that the cause of functional diseases is abnormalities in the function of the motor nerves. For example, abnormal commands through the motor nerves might produce a painful spasm (contraction) of the muscles. Still others argue that abnormally functioning processing centers are responsible for functional diseases because they misinterpret normal sensations or send abnormal commands to the organ. In fact, some functional diseases may be due to sensory dysfunction, motor dysfunction, or both sensory and motor dysfunction. Still others may be due to abnormalities within the processing centers One area that is receiving a great deal of scientific attention is the potential role of gas produced by intestinal bacteria in patients with IBS. Studies have demonstrated that patients with IBS produce larger amounts of gas than individuals without IBS, and the gas may be retained longer in the small intestine. Among patients with IBS, abdominal size increases over the day, reaching a maximum in the evening and returning to baseline by the following morning. In individuals without IBS, there is no increase in abdominal size during the day.

There has been a great deal of controversy over the role that poor digestion and/or absorption of dietary sugars may play in aggravating the symptoms of IBS. Poor digestion of lactose, the sugar in milk, is very common as is poor absorption of fructose, a sweetener found in many processed foods. Poor digestion or absorption of these sugars could aggravate the symptoms of IBS since unabsorbed sugars often cause increased formation of gas.

Although these abnormalities in production and transport of gas could give rise to some of the symptoms of IBS, much more work will need to be done before the role of intestinal gas in IBS is clear.

Dietary fat in healthy individuals causes food as well as gas to move more slowly through the stomach and small intestine. Some patients with IBS may even respond to dietary fat in an exaggerated fashion with greater slowing. Thus, dietary fat could--and probably does--aggravate the symptoms of IBS.

The following checklist was prepared from the point of view of one seeking a program to affiliatae with. But it can also help a program initiator compare current programs in order to make his better.

A. Does the Program Offer a Strategic Fit to Your Business?

1. PROGRAM PURPOSE - Define in broad terms
2. COMPLEMENTS YOUR PURPOSE - Does it help you better
realize your website long-range goals?
3. VISITOR LEARNING - Are your visitors interested and will the program help them learn?

B. Do You Trust the Business Initiating the Program?

4. SUCCESS - Does the business have a history of successes?
5. BELIEVABLE ADVERTISING - Does it promise impossible rewards: get-rich-quick and MLM schemes? Or is it honest and realistic?
6. REPUTATION - What does the business literature tell you about their past operations?
7. WHAT CLIENTS SAY - Contact current clients and ask for their opinions. Would they recommend this business organization? Are they benefiting from it?

C. Is the Program Well Designed?

8. AFFILIATE QUALIFICATIONS - Are they signing up everyone? Or are they being picky? Picky is better.
9. AFFILIATE RESPONSIBILITIES - Better, too, if there are specific responsibilities. Are affiliates asked to do promotion, communication with customers, sales?
10. INITIATOR RESPONSIBILITIES - Does the outfit offer help in promotion, sales and after-sales support?
11. PAYMENT & TERMS - Is there a fee or commission structure? How frequently are payments made? Does affiliate get credit for future sales?
12. TRANSACTION TRANSPARENCY - How frequently are transaction reports made? Are transactions independently checkable by the affiliate? Is there a third-party audit?
13. CONFLICT RESOLUTION - Is there a SIMPLE method for resolving conflicts?
14. RETURN TO SITE - Is there a simple way for a website visitor to return to the site of the affiliate after a transaction is executed?

D. Will You be Part of a Community?

15. COMMUNICATION MEDIUM - Does the program have a newsletter, a mailing list, a forum, or some other means of communicating among all affiliates?
16. AFFILIATE DECISION-MAKING - Does each affiliate have a voice in making decisions that affect all affiliates?

For many beginners, affiliate programs seem like a dream come true: earn a commission selling another company's products or services. No need to create one of your own! What's even better is that you only have to place a couple of banners or links on your website, and this hot product will sell itself! Right?

No. Just like with any other online business, earning money from affiliate programs requires education and experience with Internet marketing. Affiliate programs are a great way to learn the basics of marketing online. Although it's the rare person who makes a significant full-time income from them, many people find that they provide an excellent supplementary income stream.

Many newbies to the 'net are so eager to get started that they sign up with every affiliate program that looks good to them. They advertise like crazy, often spend hundreds of dollars -- only to be disappointed at their complete lack of sales.

So what does it take to make money with an affiliate program? Here are a few key tips ...

__Make Smart Choices.

To get started, choose only one or two high-quality programs that are a good fit with your website audience.For example, if you're running a crafts website, don't
advertise technical software.

One or two programs will provide you with plenty of work to begin with. More than that and you may find yourself frantically trying to promote too many and having little success. It's better to start earning money with a couple of good programs first, then gradually add additional income streams later on.

You may also find, over time, that your audience responds to a certain type of product and not to others. Test different offers to see which ones your audience like best.

__Don't Rely on Your Downline.

2-tier affiliate programs offer additional commissions everytime someone in your 'downline' makes a sale. Your 'downline' are those people you refer to the program who also become affiliates.

Don't become obssessed about recruiting subaffiliates. Remember that you can only control your own efforts; you can't control what other people do. Concentrate
on making your own sales... and if your subaffiliates make sales too, consider it a nice bonus!

__Hard Work, Determination, and a Willingness to Learn

Don't let anyone tell you different: Internet marketing is hard work. It does *not* consist of slapping up a few banners, blasting out a few ads, or - heaven forbid
- spamming millions of people.

You'll need the determination to keep you going throughthe 'tough' periods. People tend to expect instant results on the Internet. Unless you're a marketing genius or already have a targeted, high-traffic site, chances are you won't see immediate results. Keep in mind that everyone's different - some people will see profits in a few weeks, others in a few months.

__Experimentation and Adaptability

One day, after plenty of hard work, you may finally see the coveted 'You've made a sale!' notification. That's wonderful! Now HOW and WHY did you make that sale?

For small business owner a shift from 0.01% internet market share to 0.04% may result in tremendous four times income growth, the problem is in the limits of resources this particular owner has access to. Usually they are weak enough to allow such expansion at their own cost.

Help may come from two massive marketing instruments: - viral marketing; - business partnership based on outsourcing necessary resources.

Today we are going to speak about latter instrument of gaining exposure you deserve.
Business partnership is an agreement between two or more legal entities to cooperate together in order to reach mutually beneficial results. By extrapolating such statement into a framework of gaining market exposure, we can narrow this meaning down by focusing on uniting promotional efforts for reaching mutually beneficial results.

In practice the owner of affiliate program with the aim of gaining extensive market exposure attracts fellow marketers to promote the owner's(s') product(s) for a reward usually in the form of commission from retail price per sale. A commission for popular info products may vary from 5% to 70%.

Setting up partner program

Every partner program you will create or setup should have, at least, basic must-have features:

1. Database driven registration of affiliates.
2. Tracking affiliate sales in order to count commission.
3. Admin control panel to support affiliates and track their sales.

There are 3 basic methods of having fully functional partner programs application, not going far into science, they are "do it yourself", "setup 3rd party application", "use 3rd party service".

The first method is for those, who are knowledgeable programmers and fortunate enough to invest a lot of time in creating such a solution for personal needs or those, who are lucky to have a lot of money and hire those knowledgeable programmers. Responsibility for taking under control all support and function-
related issues would lie on your shoulders.

Setting up 3rd party affiliate program solution requires much less time or money, if any. The result will be the same as above - fully functional partner program and inevitable support problems. The only difference is that you won't be able to develop that partner application the way you need and like.

The main advantage of 3rd party service is the ability to stay unaware of how your partners sign up, track sales, receive checks and so forth, because in this case servicing your partners or affiliates will be the headache of independent company, not yours. For such "reluctance" 3rd party affiliate program provider would charge you on monthly or per sale basis, slightly decreasing your net profit at each sale.
Having your own affiliate program in place enables you to expand your market boundaries exponentially.
